Katsu curry is back on the menu, folks.
Britain’s favourite pan-Asian chain Wagamama has just announced a reopening schedule for a host of its UK restaurants. Today (May 21) sees 24 new spots opening up for delivery, including 15 London locations, on top of the five that had previously reopened.
In addition, a further 20 sites are set to start up again on May 28, with plans for a total of 67 sites to be open by the end of the month. If this goes ahead, around half of the chain’s sites would be open for delivery.
Wagamama will initially be available for delivery from Thursday-Sunday, before being extended to Wednesday-Sunday in the following week. Customers will be able to order food between 4.30-9.30pm.
“Over the past couple of months our focus has been on creating a safe working environment for our team members and our two-week trial has enabled our teams to return to work safely,” said Emma Woods, CEO of Wagamama. “The next logical step for us is to open additional sites throughout the UK, this will still very much form a ‘test and learn’ approach for the business.”
The branches set to open this week, and in the following phases, will add to the Peckham, Hackney, Bow, Kensington and Leeds sites, which are already open for business.
While full lockdown was imposed, the chain ran online cooking classes titled “Waga Wednesdays” and “Wok From Home”. They even revealed their recipe for their famous Katsu curry.
