Christmas draws ever nearer, and the city is slowly succumbing to the festive spirit as winter draws a warm and cosy blanket over us. With November almost here, that means the holiday season has all but started. You know what that means. It’s the last month for the Scrooges amongst you to complain about Christmas “arriving earlier and earlier every year” before December is upon us. And for the rest of us, it’s time to embrace the festive season head-on!
The Christmas lights are being strung up around the city, and the ice rinks are opening up for business. So here’s to lower temperatures (hopefully!), cosy evenings, and plenty of time to enjoy November before Christmas fully takes over.

One of the most magical things about London in November is the arrival of the city’s Christmas lights. Check out these stunning festive displays as they light up the darkening nights.

Grow a mo’ for a cause

Every great challenge starts with a friend, and Movember is no different. Back in 2003, two friends in a Melbourne pub challenged their friends to grow a moustache for men’s health. Thirty friends said yes. Twenty-three years later, that challenge has spread around the world. And this year, Movember is asking you to make a Growmitment: a commitment to take on Movember together.
Make a Growmitment to Grow a Moustache, move 60km, host an event, or create your own challenge. Whatever you choose, you’ll be raising funds, starting conversations and changing men’s health.

The Hackney Night Shelter provides a bed, breakfast, and dinner to 22 people a night every night. They also work with people until they’re in more permanent accommodation. Nosh on bottomless roast potatoes

The best part of a Sunday Roast is inarguably the roast potatoes. It’s perhaps the hardest part to get right, but when it’s done well, you simply never want the supply of crispy-yet-fluffy potatoes to end. If you agree, then be sure to head on over to Tom Kerridge’s Chelsea pub, The Chalk Freehouse, where every Sunday, from November 1 onwards, they’re doling out bottomless roast potatoes! But act fast, because the never-ending roasties are only available throughout November!
