With just 5 weeks to go until Christmas, one of London’s most impressive Christmas destinations has opened its doors for the winter. That’s right, folks, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland has finally returned to the city. And it’s opened with a bang and a new feather in its cap; it was recently named one of the best Christmas markets in the UK.
The annual festive event has returned for its 18th year, and it’s promising to be an enormous affair. Running from November 14, 2025, to January 1, 2026, this year’s Winter Wonderland features “over 150 rides and attractions for visitors of all ages to enjoy”.
And, listen up Scrooges, we get it – it’s still November. It’s not even officially winter, yet. But London’s enthusiasm for the festive season sees Christmas spirit arriving earlier and earlier each year, as visitors and locals alike rush to plan out the holiday season before everything gets booked or sold out. Because frankly, if you haven’t done your Christmas shopping by now, what have you been doing? (And some Christmas shops have been open for MONTHS now.)
At Hyde Park Winter Wonderland
Each year, Hyde Park gets an annual festive makeover and transforms into a proper wintry wonderland. If you haven’t been before, first of all – where have you been hiding? But second of all – fear not, we’re here to give you the lowdown.
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland drops visitors into the most Christmassy Christmas event possible. Winter Wonderland is filled to the brim with Yuletide magic. There are heart-racing rollercoasters and live entertainment, as well as gift-filled market stalls and the UK’s largest open-air ice rink.

Among the countless attractions at Winter Wonderland are:
- Santa Land: the largest free Santa’s Grotto experience in London, with an interactive Elves Workshop and the world’s first street food market for kids.
- Luminarie Lane: home to an enormous lighting installation, as well as cosy market stalls, themed bars, and plenty of food vendors.
- Magical Ice Kingdom: a themed ice attraction with over 500 tonnes of ice and snow transformed into a world themed around A Mystical, Mythical Fantasy World, where visitors can journey through the Four Realms of Earth, Fire, Air and Water.
- Bavarian Village: enjoy live music, German food, mulled wine, and good vibes in the Après-Ski themed village, plus Bar Ice “where everything, from the walls to the tables to the glass in your hand, is sculpted from crystal-clear ice”.
- A 70m Giant Wheel
- The Real Ice Slide
- Zippos Christmas Circus
and much, much more…
How to get tickets
As with previous years, tickets are based around a specific entry slot (so as to manage visitor numbers). Once you’re inside, you’re free to stay as long as you like, but be sure to pay attention to the ticket’s entry times when booking.
Ticket prices range from completely free for off-peak tickets to £7.50 for peak times (primarily weekend evenings). Or, if you pre-book £25 worth of attractions, food, drinks, rides, or games, your entry ticket will be free! (That’s one way to get around the ticket prices, especially since you’ll likely spend that much money when you’re inside anyway.)

Tickets do tend to sell out (especially peak dates and times), so we’d highly recommend booking sooner rather than later if you have a specific date in mind. Act fast and be sure you don’t miss out on one of the most magically festive experiences you can enjoy in London.
