The brains behind fairytale-like restaurant, Hide, have opened a très belle pop-up inside Mayfair’s Burlington Arcade.
For context, Hide is the critically acclaimed, Michelin star restaurant that boasts London’s largest wine list and a fairytale staircase. Ollie Dabbous is the man behind the pan; one of London’s best chefs. (Header image by @bb_foodlover)
In a new venture, the Hide gang, along with partners in crime Hedonism Wines, have opened a pop-up nearby. It originally started as a festive affair – a perfect pitstop for mid-Christmas shopping, and also a good place to pick up wines, cheeses and conserves in preparation for the holidays.
Now, it’s the ideal spot for a glass of Champers or a delicious pastry. If you head upstairs you’ll find a cosy dining room, evocative of a charming Parisian bistro. There’s a lovely menu featuring Hide favourites, including home-cured charcuteries and Porthilly oysters with caviar. There have also been some lovely dishes made especially for Hideaway, such as the black truffle Croque Monsieur. As for drinks, you can have anything from wine and Champagne, to fresh juices and Mariage Frères teas.
Downstairs you’ll discover the wine cellar, where you’ll be able to purchase competitively priced bottles of wines and spirits, all carefully curated by Hedonism’s experts. It’s not quite Hide’s 6,800 bottle menu, but you certainly won’t be short of choice. Besides huge volumes of vin, Hideaway also has an excellent selection of jams, chutneys and baked goods to take away.
