With summer firmly in place (or at least, that’s what we’re telling ourselves as we look at the skies…), when it comes to South Bank eating and dining, it can mean only one thing. Jimmy’s BBQ Club is back once again. Back for its 11th year of interactive al fresco dining, The BBQ Club has set up on the South Bank, once again led by Jimmy Garcia (perhaps the most hard-working man in the pop-up game). The food looks gorgeous, the table-side BBQs are grilling up a feast, and the riverside views are serenely stunning. Here’s what you can expect!

There’s an all-new 6-course menu. And of course there’s a complementary (not complimentary, though, we wish!) drinks flight perfectly matching each course. Now, the food is seasonal, so the menu will rotate and change throughout the Summer. But expect such delights as their spin on a ‘Cheese and Onion Potato’, where coal-fired potato meets mature cheddar and crispy potato skins. Or the ‘Proper Bab’ where you’ll find lamb leg skewer, tzatziki, pickled chilli, molasses, and firecracker sauce nestled into a Lebanese flatbread. And at least one element from your meal will come from your very own tableside Big Green Egg grill.
The Jimmy’s BBQ Club Sunday Sessions will also find slow-roasted lamb shoulder making its way onto the menu. The perfect BBQ alternative to a Sunday roast. But for even more chilled out vibes, there’s also two bars, a rooftop terrace, and a boardwalk along the river. With an a la carte street food menu on offer that ranges from the Signature BBQ Club Burger to gochujang chicken wings and lamb kebabs, you won’t be able to pass by without grabbing a perch and a bite and checking out the views. There’s even a wildflower meadow that’s sure to make its way to an Instagram feed near you.
They’re available for bookings or walk-ins, and you can make a reservation on the website. Passers-by can help themselves to the street food options to munch on a walk down the riverside. But if you’re looking for a lovely lazy summer afternoon, we can’t think of anything better than a riverside BBQ!
You’ll find Jimmy’s BBQ Club outside the Southbank Centre now.
