Everybody knows Swingers by now. Keep it PG here, you know we’re talking about Swingers Crazy Golf. The only swinging that should be going on here is of golf clubs. The suggestively named Swingers is going to be celebrating their 6th birthday with a bang. Get your minds out of the gutter, and whilst you’re at it focus on keeping your balls out of there too if you want to make par. To celebrate, on August 29, get ready for a full day of free crazy golf at Swingers City location as well as plenty of 6th birthday inspired food and drink offerings.
To claim your free golf, all you need to do is turn up – it’s really that simple. Free crazy-golf is going to be given out on a first come, first served basis, with everyone able to secure golf for up to four people at a time. With it being a bank holiday, you’ll be wanting to head down as early as possible to avoid disappointment or a long wait. When Swingers say a full day, they mean it, with the free golf kicking off at 10am and going all the way through to 11pm!
If the free golf wasn’t enough, they’re also helping you celebrate without the typical breaking of the bank when it comes to the drinks. If you make your way down to one of the five bars, you can grab yourself the signature birthday cocktail, a Coconut Espresso Martini, made with Ciroc Vodka, Solo Coffee, habanero bitters, cream of coconut, coconut syrup and tonka beans – priced at £6 because you know 6th birthday and all. If you’re feeling even more celebratory, you can grab yourself a bottle of Perrier Jouet at half price for £35.
Don’t worry, the food is also covered, what kind of a birthday party would it be without food anyway? Pizza Pilgrims, Patty & Bun, and Breddos Tacos will be providing the birthday bites with street food offerings throughout the day. They are also in on the 6 theme and will be offering selected dishes at the celebratory price of £6.
Already well established as the best swinging spot in the City of London (for the love of all that is holy, don’t Google that to verify it), Swingers opened a second course in the West End back in 2018. Taking up residence in the former BHS flagship store, this one offers a paean to putting, testing your nerve, skill, and sobriety. Both locations offer two nine-hole courses, inspired by the British summer time.
Down in a cavernous WW2 bunker beneath the Gherkin, the City branch offers the luxurious Lighthouse course, and the Windmill course, which could leave you in a spin if you aren’t careful. Meanwhile, in the West End, Swingers have been inspired by the roaring twenties, modelling their courses upon the English riviera. Whether you’re wound up by the Big Wheel course, or sent skedaddling by the Helter Skelter course, you’ll get your kicks good and proper.
Once you’ve triumphed over your vanquished comrades, you’ll naturally want to rub your victory in their faces. Happily, Swingers has a podium to do that, and you can even get your celebrations immortalised in glorious boomerang form. Even better, during the birthday celebrations, the City venue will be decorated with balloons and birthday decorations which you can use as props.
There’s also going to be sweet treats from Crosstown Doughnuts to round things off. Birthday cake is good, but birthday doughnuts should be the trend if we’re being honest.
Remember, Bank Holiday Monday, August 29. Save the date, add it to your calendar, do whatever you need to so that you won’t forget. We promise you won’t want to miss all that the Swingers City 6th birthday celebrations have to offer.
