Vegans will want to make a trip Crosstown for these bad boys.
Hole-y smokes, the unthinkable has happened: vegans have claimed the doughnut as their own. We knew it was coming when vegan varieties started popping up all over the capital, but Crosstown Doughnuts have taken it one step further, by launching their new Marylebone location as London’s first all-vegan doughnut shop. (See our guide to London’s best vegan restaurants.)
The new addition to the Crosstown family opened in March 2018, serving up their much-vaunted sourdough doughnuts. Just like the rest of Crosstown’s rings, these are handmade in London each morning – the only difference is that this lot are entirely plant-based. Top vegan flavours include the peanut butter jelly doughnut and the apple pie doughnut. King of the castle is their beloved vegan blood orange doughnut, made with beetroot dough and sprinkled with pistachio crumbs.
Doughnuts’ old partner coffee is coming along for the ride, don’t you worry about that. Crosstown is continuing its partnership with London-based Caravan Coffee to brew you up a cup of Joe. For the rest of March, you can get a cup for just £1.50, along with a splash of plant-based milk (the store is entirely dairy-free). Matcha, chai, and hot chocolate are also on the menu up in Marylebone, but you’ll likely be taking them on the go, because this Crosstown branch is teeny tiny. Vegans of London, doughnut miss out on this one!
