Just when we thought it was never going to happen, this weekend the sun actually shone in London for more than two consecutive hours, so you know what that means: al fresco dining season has well and truly begun.
With warmer weather (supposedly) on the horizon and the summer months within touching distance, SUMI in Notting Hill has declared its terrace as officially open (hurray!).
Located at the heart of Notting Hill, you’ll find SUMI on Westbourne Grove; a perfect location for sitting, socialising, sipping, and soaking up the summer sunshine.
Take a seat on their spacious, covered terrace (don’t worry, there are cosy blankets at hand for those inevitable chilly evenings) and let your taste buds be transported to East Asia with an inventive Japanese menu, courtesy of head chef, Christian Onia.
The menu is packed full of fresh, light dishes made using the finest quality seasonal ingredients. Choose from their selection of traditional Japanese options including their signature sushi and sashimi; their all-year-round favourite ‘temaki’ hand rolls; or their yellowtail sashimi salad and yuzuoshu dressing, which is new to the menu this summer.
You can’t spend a warm day, lounging in the sunshine without having a deliciously refreshing drink in hand, and luckily for us, SUMI have us covered with their creative cocktail menu. Sip on their ‘Dream Valley‘ cocktail (Arette Tequila Blanco, Italicus, cucumber and lime mint sancho cordial), or if you prefer a drink that packs a punch, go for their ‘Little Wasabi‘ (Haku Vodka, lime, shiso syrup and wasabi). An extensive wine, champagne, and sake list is also available, alongside beers and top-shelf spirits, so there’s certainly something for everyone.
Summer is just around the corner and there really is no better way to get the season started than with a visit to a terrific terrace to sip on sake and snack on sushi, am I right?
