For the best brunch in north London, with a side order of culture, head to Starfish Loves Coffee.
Starfish Loves Coffee boasts a ruddy excellent brunch menu. You only need to read the words ‘Forest mushrooms with thyme mascarpone and prosecco’ to realise that it ain’t no ordinary menu, either. (Header image: @courteneynoonan)

Breakfast is served until 12pm, and features a very Dishoom-esque brekkie naan with bacon, chilli fried egg and a herbed cream cheese. Brunch is served all day and, as well as the Forest mushrooms, there are plenty of other brilliant dishes, such as: Black bean fritters with sautéed spring onions and orange and turmeric yoghurt; a Brisket waffle with maple-glazed beef brisket, jalapeños, charred baby corn and Chimichurri; and Bombay eggs with spiced lentils, spinach and raita, served with a warm naan.

On Fridays, things get a little baonkers, as they open slightly later for ‘Beer and Buns.’ For just £10, between 7–9:30pm, you can get a bao bun and a beer, choosing from Korean fried chicken, Soft shell crab (+ £2), Crispy oyster mushroom, and Tempura halloumi. There’s also a DJ playing every Friday until 11pm.

There’s live jazz every Sunday, and a DJ every Saturday night. This is when you might like to take advantage of the prosecco that they literally have on tap. We’ll cheers to that!

The café also doubles up as a gorgeous art gallery, and they showcase a different artist’s work each month. Pop in and check it out!
