Christmas is punk, or at least it will be this year, with Sex Pistols announcing a celebration of the genre for its 50th anniversary at the end of 2026. With Frank Carter on frontman duties once again, the band will be playing two huge nights in London on the ‘Anarchy In The UK’ tour, first at Brixton Academy on December 18 and then at the Hammersmith Apollo on December 20.
Steve Jones, Glen Matlock, and Paul Cook will all be hitting the stage with Frank Carter on vocals, with shows also booked in Dublin, Edinburgh, and Glasgow. It comes as a celebration of the most famous year in punk, with the tour named after the band’s iconic track Anarchy In The UK.

Though they may have released Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s The Sex Pistols in 1977, it was the year before that Sex Pistols first drew crowds in, playing gigs at London’s 100 Club, The Marquee, and more.
Speaking on the early days of punk and Anarchy In The UK, Sex Pistols drummer Paul Cook said: “It was kind of like a commando raid. I don’t even think a lot of places knew we were playing there. We just turned up and set up. It was all a learning curve for us – getting out there and playing live – we were learning on the job. With Anarchy, I think we tapped into a feeling of unrest around the country at the time. The message was pretty simple – just have a go and get out there and do whatever you want to do. It was a new world.”
Frank Carter fronts the band on the tour, as he has done for each show since they returned in 2024, which initially took place with gigs at Bush Hall to support the venue’s fundraiser to stay open. They have since played multiple gigs, including a slot at Download Festival and shows at the 100 Club and Kentish Town Forum in London, as well as a gig for the Teenage Cancer Trust concerts at the Royal Albert Hall. He, of course, plays in place of their original frontman, John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten), who has not been involved in the band since their most recent reformation.
