We’re becoming rather spoilt for choice when it comes to scenic spots to take an al-fresco dip in the capital city. But as the season for splashing around in water is officially in full swing, we’re happy to budge up and make room for one more. Especially when it comes in the form of London’s first Olympic-sized floating lido. This brand new natural-water swimming pool will wade into the capital city later this month – and is set to be open 364 days a year.
Sea Lanes Canary Wharf
The new lido on the block will land in London’s lush and leafy Eden Dock, courtesy of Sea Lanes (the brains behind the country’s first National Open Water Swimming Centre that can be found down in Brighton). Londoners will soon be able to swim in the crystal-clear natural water, surrounded by a pretty impressive backdrop, featuring the skyscrapers and stroppy commuters of Canary Wharf.

The dockside destination won’t just feature an impressive swim-pressive 50-metre, 6-lane pool. It’ll also come complete with 2 saunas (that will be 100% renewable energy fueled), a community clubhouse (that’ll hold plenty of events and activities throughout the year), and an exciting food and drink offering (for some well-deserved post-swim refueling and rehydrating, of course).
Sea Lanes Canary Wharf will bridge the gap between traditional pool and open water swimming, and will offer both pay-as-you-swim and membership options. All ages and abilities are welcome to take a dip and the water quality is regularly tested against the EU Bathing Water Standards (and consistently rated excellent, FYI).
Sea Lanes Canary Wharf will open its doors on June 19 – find out more about it here.
