As far as vantage points over London go, Sabine have got it pretty spot on. There’s not only striking views out to St Paul’s Cathedral, but a terrace that serves up breathtaking interiors and menus that change with the season.
Their latest transformation is into a fine-as-hell winter terrace, which is going to prove quite the hit with Londoners looking to cram in the festive activities as 2022 draws to a close.
To close the year, Sabine has gone for the theme of ‘Enchanted Forest’; decorating their seventh-floor haven into a Christmassy paradise that comes alongside a new curated cocktail menu.
To compliment the snow-capped winter foliage, you can tuck into a tasty blend of Whitley Neill gin oriental spice, ginger, homemade jalapeno and cinnamon as part of a drink that sounds about as festive as it gets. Or, you could try the new addition of The Warm Kiss, combining 24 Whistle Pig 15-year-old rye with cinnamon liquor orgeat syrup, orange and Angostura bitters smoked with cherry wood to bring out the true sweet and spice kick.
It’s the perfect spot to host after-work parties, which we know are rife at this time of year. For that, you’ll also need some tasty dishes to line the stomach—Sabine can help you out in that regard… and then some. Try the mac ‘n’ cheese bon bons with truffle mayo before giving the smoked salmon tatare, picked shallot, capers, yuzu and nori cracker. Baked camembert will go down a treat with the festive revellers, but don’t sleep on the Lebanese chicken with roast biber peppers and the lobster roll with lemon mayonnaise. Basically, we will take the lot.
Sabine is a warm hug of a winter terrace, with cosy spaces inside and enclosed greenhouse with glass walls to allow you to gaze out over the city. Plus, there’s blankets and heaters outside to help you tackle the sub-zero nights we’ve been enduring lately. All boxes ticked; now to order the entire menu. Cheers.
