Rowans

There’s absolutely no doubt that Rowans will be right up your alley…

Got a spare evening in the calendar? North London’s retro bowling alley has finally reopened after lockdown, so why not strike while the iron’s hot? Rowans is home to over 20 lanes, plenty of pool tables, sports screens, an arcade and endless club classics for when you want to dance the night away (until 10pm of course). [Featured image: Rowans]

Rowans has been up and running for well over 100 years, proving that some things never go out of style. And the best part is that a visit here won’t break the bank. Their bowling games start from as little as £6.20 per person and you can even bag yourself a cocktail for under a fiver. Who would’ve thought it?

Rowans is notorious for its late night bowling sessions that continue into the early hours of the morning, but for the time being, all games will finish by 10pm. Nonetheless, there’ll be throwback tunes from the 70s, 80s and 90s playing round the clock and a perpetual party atmosphere. Book a lane in advance for groups of up to six and see who winds up in the gutter…

If you don’t fancy a bowl, you can pay just £1 entry and experience everything else that Rowans has to offer. It is one of the biggest pool table venues in the city, with over a dozen tables to battle your friends on. And there’s also an epic arcade filled with old-school games, ice hockey tables, and a dance machine.

Unlike most bowling alleys, this one is kitted out with its own bar! They have classic cocktails as well as their own signatures drinks such as the Rowan’s Kiss, starting from £4. They also serve wine, beer, cider, and spirits that are equally as budget-friendly. They’ll have you thinking you’re back at uni with these prices.

If you find yourself peckish during your visit, Rowans have an American-inspired food menu offering burgers, hot dogs and fries on weekends. Plus they’ve partnered with Dominos, meaning that you can also get a pizza delivered straight to your bowling lane. The options are endless.

Let the good times roll…
