E com a Oktoberfest literalmente ao virar da esquina, não há melhor altura para beber uma ou duas canecas e saborear o doce líquido alemão. Por isso, sem mais demoras, aqui está o nosso resumo de oito das melhores cervejarias de Londres. Prost!
1. Bierschenke, Covent Garden
O Bierschenke, um vasto restaurante alemão que se tornou numa cervejaria, oferece “o autêntico sabor de Munique em Londres“. Quem somos nós para discordar? O Bierschenke está situado no coração de Covent Garden, tendo acabado de se mudar de Liverpool Street, e só serve cerveja fabricada na Baviera. Muito obrigado!
Todo o mobiliário utilizado aqui é também de madeira de ácer verdadeira, proveniente diretamente de Munique, e as suas salsichas – uma iguaria alemã básica, claro – são entregues pelos melhores talhos da Alemanha. Como se não pudessem ser mais autênticos, os funcionários também usam os tradicionais lederhosen e dirndls de couro. Até têm uma banda de oompah que actua aqui todos os sábados. Inscreva-nos!

2. Bermondsey Bierkeller, Bermondsey
Localizado bem no coração da London Bridge, encontra-se esta joia absoluta que combina cerveja tradicional alemã com desportos ao vivo, comida de rua e até mesmo um salão de jogos sangrentos! É um local animado , aberto até à 1h da manhã ao fim de semana, e também é um prazer organizar despedidas de solteiro, eventos de trabalho e festas de aniversário.
Os steins – todos de cerveja e lager alemãs – custam cerca de 13 libras, e também pode comer pizzas, hambúrgueres, asas de frango e cachorros-quentes. Até há cocktails de caneca aqui – duas canecas de “sexo na praia”, alguém quer?

3. Katzenjammers, London Bridge
Outro local bastante barulhento aqui, o Katzenjammers se apresenta como “o bierkeller mais legal de Londres”, e com uma localização invejável ao lado do Borough Market, é difícil argumentar com isso para ser honesto.
Para além de bandas oompah ao vivo, há ofertas de duas refeições por uma neste local divertido – que tem uma secção no andar de baixo para os fins-de-semana – bem como um bar de salsichas. Agora, o que é mais divertido do que isso?

4. Camden Beer Hall, Camden
Agora, este abriu as suas portas em Camden em junho de 2021, e é um ótimo local para ir beber uma cerveja ou duas, há que dizê-lo. Nós saberíamos – era mesmo ao fundo da estrada do nosso antigo escritório. E fizemos-lhe uma visita. Mais do que uma vez!
Uma cervejaria de estilo bávaro que foi trazida à vida pela equipa da Camden Town Brewery, é um caldeirão de cervejas e comida tradicionais alemãs com cozinha de estilo italiano, cortesia do Chef Theo Randall. Alguém quer uma pizza de Bratwurst? Também pode optar por participar numa visita imersiva à cervejaria Camden Beer Hall, que lhe ensinará tudo sobre como a Camden Town Brewery cria as suas famosas cervejas e termina com uma sessão de degustação de cerveja. 5. Clube de Críquete de Munique, Tower Hill, Victoria e Canary Wharf
Com bandas oompah ao vivo semanais, cervejas alemãs servidas na caneca e comida bávara clássica, as três filiais do Munich Cricket Club são uma adição bem-vinda ao cenário das cervejarias em Londres.
Há de tudo aqui, desde as “Munich Mondays” (segundas-feiras de Munique) – em que se paga dois por um em todos os pratos de schnitzel – até às “Sausage Tuesdays” (terças-feiras de salsicha) – em que se pode comer uma salsicha pesada e uma cerveja por dez libras. Além disso, há happy hours, almoços expressos e até um brunch bávaro sem fundo – e sabe o quanto gostamos deles.

6. Cervejaria alemã Kraft, vários locais
Ok, tecnicamente esta não é uma cervejaria propriamente dita, mas com um nome como German Kraft Brewery, não podíamos deixar esta de fora, pois não? É uma fábrica de cerveja “artesanal” com raízes na tradição alemã, cujo principal objetivo é trazer cervejas frescas e autênticas de estilo alemão para o Big Smoke.
Todas as suas cervejas são fabricadas de acordo com a lei de pureza alemã de 1516, que utiliza apenas água, malte, lúpulo e levedura – ou seja, cerveja sem tanta confusão. O resultado é uma incrível variedade de cervejas de pressão, que pode ser apreciada num dos seus muitos locais em Stratford, Dalston, Brixton, Mayfair ou no Mercato Metrapolitano em Elephant and Castle.

7. German Gymnasium, King’s Cross St. Pancras
Pancras. A nossa penúltima entrada nesta ronda de cervejarias em Londres é o German Gymnasium – um local elegante que oferece uma experiência um pouco mais sofisticada do que o resto das cervejarias aqui mencionadas. Oferecendo vários menus fixos e à la carte (peço desculpa pela confusão cultural), o German Gymnasium é o local perfeito para quase todas as ocasiões… particularmente para um bom schnitzel, muito obrigado.
O impressionante edifício foi o primeiro ginásio construído em Inglaterra em 1865 – também para a Sociedade de Ginástica Alemã – mas é agora um restaurante de luxo especializado em cozinha alemã ao pequeno-almoço, almoço e jantar. O restaurante em si respira grandeza e a comida é sehr, sehr gut! Há também uma série de deliciosas cervejas alemãs de barril à pressão – Prost!

8. Stein’s, Richmond, Kingston e Kensington
Completando esta lista das melhores cervejarias de Londres está a Stein’s – uma amada cadeia de três locais (em Kingston, Richmond e Kensington) que se especializa em excelente comida alemã e, como você pode dizer pelo nome, canecas daquele doce néctar alemão.
Embora os três locais sejam óptimos, provavelmente teríamos de escolher a filial de Richmond como a nossa favorita. Empoleirado junto ao Tamisa, é perfeito para quando o sol está a brilhar, pois há um terraço encantador com longos bancos de madeira junto às águas do rio.
A comida também não é má – pense em schnitzel de vitela, batatas salteadas, bratwurst e até, *ahem*, um “festival de salsichas gigante” – um vasto prato para partilhar composto por bratwurst, nuernberger, bruehpolnische, wiener, bolo de carne e bacon estaladiço, bem como chucrute, puré e batatas fritas. Ufa!
