It’s National Picnic Week and that only means one thing: dining outside and feasting on picnic treats.
As busy Londoners, we may not always have the time to put together a basket of treats so here’s a small list of some of the fanciest hampers on the market.
1. Fortnum & Mason – £135 for two people
2. Carluccio’s – £45 for two people
Who knew restaurants offered a pre-ordered picnic option? Well this one’s set to be a veritable Italian feast with dishes like summer chicken, panzanella salad and focaccia amongst sweet treats like an apricot frangipane tart or fig and chocolate biscotti. Grazie for this, Carluccio’s.
3. Corrigan’s Mayfair – from £100
This luxury hamper has all you could really want in a picnic, really. With 7 seasonal dishes, homemade bread, hand-churned butter, champagne, water and a blanket – they really have covered all the bases with this one. They’ve also got you on the crockery front as disposable cutlery, glassware and plates are all included too. For a “small” added fee (an extra £900), you can have the full luxury picnic service complete with a butler. Super fancy.
4. Tom’s Kitchen Deli – £25 for two people
Nothing too fancy about this picnic but it’s a pleasant one all the same. Sip on fresh juices, tuck into homemade sandwiches or baguettes, crisps or popcorn and flapjacks or brownies. There’s also the option of adding a bottle of Prosecco or Champagne because hey, why not?
5. La Fromagerie – £245
