Fromage-fanatics and dairy-devourers in London are no doubt already intimately familiar with the now-infamous Pick & Cheese restaurant in Seven Dials. The restaurant has delighted gouda-gluttons and feta-fans for years with its conveyor belt that delivers morsels of cheese directly to diners. And now, the team behind the restaurant has opened up another Pick & Cheese location (complete with its own conveyor belt, of course!) in Camden.
Driven by the success of the Covent Garden restaurant, which can be found inside the Seven Dials Market, the new Pick & Cheese site has taken over the site of Camden’s The Cheese Bar restaurant. The Camden Stables Market spot has been transformed with the addition of an 18-metre-long conveyor belt. This winds its way around the restaurant with a regularly changing lineup of cheeses for diners to enjoy.
The new spot opened today, on Friday, July 25, and we got a chance to check it out before it opened. Trust us, you’ll want to cancel your weekend plans and get ready to chow down on some cheddar!
Cheese-y delights at Pick & Cheese Camden
So, what kind of cheeses exactly can guests expect to pick and choose cheese from at the new cheese-focused spot? As with other locations from the cheese-restaurant group (such as their floating cheese restaurant), hand-picked cheeses are paired with intriguing and exciting bites. The cheeses come from small-scale, artisan cheesemakers and producers, with Pick & Cheese working hard to “celebrate the very best of British cheesemaking”.
Dishes will change regularly throughout the year, but could include plates of:
- Cropwell Bishop Stilton & Kimchi
- Cornish Yarg with Pea & Mint Pesto
- St Ella Goat’s Cheese paired with Rose Turkish Delight
Similar to the OG Covent Garden site, Pick & Cheese Camden will also offer a variety of ‘Off-Belt Dishes’. These include their legendary Grilled Cheese sandwiches featuring a host of stunning, melty, goo-ey cheeses. Other dishes include whole baked cheeses and even cheese-y scoops of gelato for dessert. The gelators feature fresh local British cheeses, with flavours like “the Rosary goats cheese, honey and rosemary served with a shot of Jurancon – affogato style.”

The new cheese conveyor belt restaurant also features a “Bottomless Plates” offer on Wednesdays. This allows guests to enjoy unlimited plates of cheese and charcuterie for less than £30 per person. To celebrate their opening, though, they’re slashing prices and offering up the bottomless cheese option for just £20 per person through July and August! How’s that for edam good deal?!
