A fry up for charity? Sounds like the best of both worlds to us!
We’ve already told you about the culinary genius of The Dinner Ladies – who having been running these wonderful online dumpling making classes – and now they’re back with a new foodie adventure. They’ll be teaming up with breakfast-loving lot The Fry Up Police on June 6, aiming to create the best Great British fry up in existence. And they’ll be doing it all for charity!
Crafting the greatest fry up in creation is both an art and a science, but with The Dinner Ladies and The Fry Up Police, you’re in extremely capable hands. Whether you’re searching for the ultimate hangover cure or simply aiming for the breakfast of champions, the fry off will give you the tips and tricks needed to conquer hunger. The class takes place via Zoom at 11am on June 6, with Tom Shiers of The Fry Up Police teaching guests how to make hash browns from scratch, bring big flavours to the plate, and concoct the perfect Bloody Mary – which, in concert with the fry up, will blow that pesky hangover out of the water.
Whilst the prospect of the perfect fry up is reason enough to join, there’s another brilliant aspect to the demonstration. The money from your tickets, which cost £6.50, will be donated to efforts to feed hungry and vulnerable people across the UK. It’s just one small part of The Dinner Ladies’ fantastic efforts at this time, which has also seen their JustGiving campaign raise over £2000 to provide weekly meals to hospitals, care homes, homeless charities, food banks, and elderly people.
Outstanding stuff, isn’t it? You can find your tickets for the fry up class here, and cooking along is highly encouraged. One final word on the class, though: you’re going in search of fry up perfection, so whilst prizes will be awarded to those deemed worthy, failed attempts will receive scorn and ridicule. Hey, if you can’t stand the heat, you’d better get out of the kitchen…
