Team GB has had remarkable success in recent Olympic Games. We finished fourth in Beijing 2008, third at London 2012, improved our medal count in Rio 2016, and secured fourth place in Tokyo 2020. So it’s safe to say that expectations for Paris 2024 have been high — but the team has already been delivering.
Team GB has made a strong start, winning medals on day one for the first time since 2004 and securing 12 golds so far. Last week brought in a fantastic medal haul, with Keely Hodgkinson winning the 800m final on Monday (August 5), Josh Kerr taking silver in the 1500m on Tuesday (August 6), and Matthew Hudson-Smith earning silver in the 400m yesterday (August 7).
Our athletes have excelled in various events, from running and swimming to biking and shooting, with many top medal contenders still to compete. Curious about which British athletes have reached the podium?
Here’s our current roundup of Olympic medals won by Team GB.
