Is this Hackney or downtown Miami? At Palm Vaults, it’s hard to tell.
It’s the cafe that launched a thousand Instagrams. (Trust us, we had to sift through them for this article). Over in Hackney, Palm Vaults boasts amazing interiors and a range of equally pretty food. Aside from choosing what to order, your biggest battle is deciding whether to actually eat the food, or simply take pictures. Case in point: Palm Vaults’ fabulous lattes. Oh yes oh yes. The lattes here are a work of art, coloured with the likes of beetroot, blue algae, and activated charcoal to make ’em pretty. There are several on the menu, and Palm Vaults made waves late last year for producing a glitter latte. Yes, really. Grab one of Palm Vaults’ perfectly patterned takeaway cups and you can take the prettiness on the road.
Meanwhile, the food is equally beautiful and tastes equally great. As befits any vaguely hip London cafe, Palm Vaults will knock you up a very nice avocado on toast, but there’s a lot more to discover. The pink dragonfruit breakfast bowl comes highly recommended, as do their range of toasties, but you’ll be hard-pressed to go wrong when it all looks like this.
Everything here is vegetarian, and Palm Vaults can easily adjust items to be free from dairy, gluten, or whatever else would trip you up. Personally, I can’t take my eyes off the banana bread, topped with your choice of coconut cream or caramel almond butter.
Palm Vaults bake and sell their own cakes in a range of pastel colours. Usually topped with some sort of witticism, you can steal a slice in store, or order a full one online.
Oh, and we haven’t even got to the interiors yet. Green and leafy, with hits of pink and gold, Palm Vaults looks like 70s Miami, just with a lot less cocaine.
Seriously though, look at this place and tell us you’re not champing at the bit to ‘gram it.
The theme extends to their loyalty cards, and even the toilets. Have you seen a more luscious loo recently?
Devotees of Palm Vaults (of which you are presumably now one) can pick up some seriously suave merchandise too. Although you’ll be sure to fit in with the Hackney cool kids, it’s pretty expensive, so perhaps just a latte will do for now?
