Roots Picnic is usually held in Philadelphia, but its crossing the pond for its first International event, which is set to take place right here in London this summer!
The legendary hip hop festival is landing at the debut year of Palace Bowl Presents, a new concept at the Crystal Palace Bowl that sees events take over the space between July 31 and August 18. Roots Picnic will take place over two days on Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9, with Nas & The Roots playing a special joint headline spot on the first night.
On the second night, Roots Picnic will be headlined by Anthony Hamilton and Musiq Soulchild, as well as hosting a ‘Sunday Jam’, wih Robert Glasper & Questlove also joined by Common and Bilal. There will also be a first hometown performance in more than a decade from Floetry.
Running since 2008, Roots Picnic began as a co-creation from The Roots’ manager Shawn Gee, and has welcomed artists including Public Enemy, Method Man, John Legend, De La Soul, St Vincent, Snoop Dogg, Rudimental, Erykah Badu, D’Angelo, David Byrne x Nile Rodgers x Wu-Tang-Clan, and many more.

When do tickets to Roots Picnic go on sale?
A pre-sale for the show went live today (April 20). There will be a general sale to follow, which starts from tomorrow (April 21) at 12pm. Book your spot for day one here and day two here.
Who else is playing at Palace Bowl Presents?
