Morrisons’ new discount scheme for teachers is launching in stores today.
As we all know, Morrisons is partial to a wholesome gesture from time to time. At the height of the pandemic they increased bonuses for their employees and even donated £10 million to food banks across the UK. And this time around, they’re supporting teachers and other school staff with a new discount scheme. Starting today (November 2), school teachers can receive a 10% discount in any of their stores nationwide. There really is no catch! If you’re eligible, all you have to do is show your nursery, school, or college photo ID card at the till and the discount will be applied.
This scheme is their way of showing gratitude to teachers for continuously supporting the nation’s children throughout Covid-19, often putting themselves at risk to do so. As another lockdown is around the corner for England, schools are scheduled to remain open. Therefore, teaching staff across the country will continue providing an invaluable education for students on-site, while the majority of people work from home. The discount is Morrisons’ way of saying ‘Thank you’.
Back in April, Morrisons launched a 10% discount scheme for NHS workers, showing their support to those on the frontlines. This will continue indefinitely, alongside the new scheme for teachers. It will run until January 3, 2021 and any teachers in “primary, secondary, private and special education schools, sixth form colleges and further education colleges” are eligible for the discount. This also includes teaching assistants, office, dinner, and cleaning staff (as long as they are employed directly by the school).
Just a heads-up, the discount isn’t available online. So head to their website for more information or to find a store near you!
