If you’re looking for a brunch that’s a) delicious b) looks good on the ‘gram and c) dog-friendly, we’ve got just the place. In fact, we’ve got eleven of ’em. Megan’s is a party of picture-perfect restaurants that’s now grown to eleven spots in the capital, with branches in – deep breath – Battersea, Balham, Clapham Common, Clapham Old Town, Wandsworth, Chelsea, Kingston, Dulwich, Parsons Green, Kensington, Islington, and Chiswick. That’s an embarrassment of riches, but whichever one you choose, you’re sure of some truly immaculate brunch vibes.
Cards on the table: last time I looked at this article, Megan’s had four branches – so the speed at which they’ve taken over the London dining scene is pretty impressive, and shows you just how popular the place is with brunch aficionados. Each restaurant takes its own design cue, such as the King’s Road branch with its stunning year-round garden, the Parsons Green offshoot with a classically Instagrammable floral canopy, and the Clapham Old Town branch with a giant olive tree in the heart of the restaurant.
For riverside views, you’re going to want to make a beeline for their more recently opening at Battersea Power Station, whilst the Clapham Common restaurant – codenamed The Terrace by Megan’s – has become a summer smash-hit thanks to a menu of sourdough pide pizzas and takeaway picnics, which feature mezze, kebabs, and shakshouka.
Let’s get one thing straight: the menu is excellent at any time of day, but Megan’s does one thing particularly well, and that’s brunch. Your trip here might include a Turkish brunch feast, the spicy Shakshorizo Baked Eggs, or vegan pancakes topped off with coconut yoghurt, blueberry compote, dried raspberries, and maple syrup. Bottomless brunches are of course part of the fun here, and Megan’s lineup of comedy nights, drag brunches, and seasonal specials will keep you and the crew entertained.
Whatever you fill your face with, your eyes will definitely be content with their surroundings. And that’s especially true considering that Megan’s has to be one of the most dog-friendly restaurants in London, with pups and pooches of all sizes welcomed. Seriously, check out their Instagram account if you don’t believe me!
