Alright, alright, alright.
It’s a pretty rubbish time for everyone—especially senior citizens—right now. But, everyone’s favourite goofball star Matthew McConaughey has given some of the worried few a healthy distraction.
The Dazed and Confused actor certainly wasn’t just that on this occasion. He knew that the elderly community needed some cheering up and that’s exactly what he provided.
Matthew McConaughey hosted a virtual bingo night for The Enclave senior facility in his home state of Texas. He was joined by his wife, two children and mother for the fun on his end. Tell us with a straight face that this isn’t one of the most wholesome clips you’ve seen?
Each member of the game listened as the actor called out numbers for them to play along. They all sat on a group call to remain safe and abide by social distancing rules.
At the end of the game, the winners were declared to an eruption of cheers. Matthew McConaughey’s idea had clearly brought joy to each member’s day.
The players even had their own surprise for Matthew after the game. In an online video a few weeks back, he encouraged community spirit and spurred us all on to “turn a red light into a green light”.

So, the elderly residents used their superior wisdom to come up with a lovely and innovative idea, which honoured the actor’s green light campaign. Each player held up a green card for the actor at the end of the game to symbolise the help he’d given to them. Each had their own message, with one even saying “Alright, Alright, Alright”… Genius.
It seems everyone had a wonderful time here, and we could even share some of that joy through this video. Perhaps virtual bingo can be the new Zoom Quiz.
