If you’ve spent any time on social media or consume popular media from, oh, the past few decades, then you’ve likely heard of Magnolia Bakery. The now-infamous bakery first catapulted to worldwide acclaim when Miranda and Carrie sat in front of it, scoffing pink cupcakes in a season 3 episode of Sex and the City. And now, only for the second time ever, it’s winging its way to London – giving us a chance to try some of its sweet treats.
Magnolia Bakery will pop up at The OWO Raffles’ Café Ciel on May 19 (yup, that’s tomorrow, folks!). But you’ll have to act fast, as it’s only in town for a limited time. The Magnolia-Ciel pop-up will run until June 10.
Magnolia Bakery at Café Ciel
Magnolia is winging its way across the Atlantic to help Café Ciel celebrate the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The pop-up will transform the cafe’s courtyard with a floral display, inspired by the flower show.
Visitors can order from a special takeaway menu of Magnolia treats. These will include the iconic banana pudding alongside a special sticky toffee pudding creation. Those looking to recreate the Sex and the City scene are out of luck, though, as the cupcakes will not be available at the pop-up.
If you’d rather settle in for the full experience, Magnolia Bakery and Café Ciel have collaborated on a limited-edition brunch menu with New York energy. Combining the creative and culinary forces between the two groups, the menu features Banoffee French Toast, Pudding Affogato, Cinnamon Swirl Pancakes, and more.
They’re also joining forces to transform Magnolia Bakery’s most famous creation into the drink of the summer. They’re smashing together an iced matcha latte with Magnolia’s banana pudding. That’s right, you can sip on an indulgent banana pudding iced matcha – which just might be the drink of the (early) summer. If you’re after something more coffee-forward, you can also grab a cold brew, topped with Magnolia Bakery pudding.
