All biases aside, London is one of the best cities in the world… and it’s not even just the websites dedicated to shouting about it (us guys) that are saying as much. Every week it feels like another study confirms the very fact, and this time it’s down to the Euromonitor International report to give us our flowers – again.
This travel index crunched the numbers and sought to determine the Top 100 City Destinations for 2023, finding London to squeeze into the top spots at number 10. Now it may not trump the accolade of “Best City In The World” that the big smoke received earlier in the year, but we’ll sure still take what we can get.
London may have scraped the top 10 overall, but it did take a sweet second spot when it came to number of international arrivals in 2023, with 18.8 million in total and a growth of 17% year-on-year (coming in just behind Istanbul with 20.2 arrivals.
Who took the top spots in the Top 20 City Destination study?
We don’t have to gaze very far across the pond to spot the victors in this contest (and try not to shake our fists in blind rage), with Paris gaining the bragging rights. The city of love has retained its title of the world’s top city destination in the Euromonitor International Report, pipping the likes of Dubai (#2) and Madrid (#3) to the post.
How is the study carried out? Euromonitor International used several determining factors, which include economic and business performance; tourism performance; tourism infrastructure; tourism policy and attractiveness; health and safety; and sustainability.
Always a good sign to see London among the top spots in these rankings, and you can find out more about Euromonitor International here.
