We may have been doused in sun back in mid-March, but since then it’s been full steam ahead with the April showers.
In short, the weather has been s**t for the last few weeks, and we’re pining for some more toasty conditions. According to forecasters, that may just happen, so you might want to dust off your shades ahead of the Easter weekend as a mini-heatwave could be on the way.
That’s right, we’ve been told that (although we know how this can go when it comes to weather predictions in this country) some sun and highs of 21°C are on the way through the bank holiday weakened.
Google Weather shows that the weekend is set to stay dry for the entire four days, with the highlight coming on Good Friday (21°C), with a pretty peachy Easter Sunday also on the cards (19°C). If the forecast is spot on, London will be hotter than Ibiza for the majority of the weekend, which is a pretty solid turn of events for the bank holiday.
It could reach the heights of the March heatwave, and I reckon it might just qualify as barbecue weather if the rain keeps away — that’s all you can really ask for over a bank holiday weekend in April, isn’t it?
By the time the next long weekend rolls around, we’ll have entered the merry month of May, so our standards will have raised significantly (picnics/drinks in parks, tans, day trips to the beach – that kind of thing), but at this time of year we will very much bite your hand off for a mini-heatwave. Don’t let us down.
