As we wander around London, valiantly searching for the best deals on food and meals, we often cast our minds back to ‘the good old days’. The days of sub-£5 pints, sub-£10 meals (full meals!), and a generally more affordable cost of living. Sometimes we wish we could turn back time and bring back the prices we used to enjoy mere years ago. Well, maybe we can! Because Mayfair institution Langan’s Brasserie is doing just that to celebrate its 50th birthday next month.
To celebrate 50 years of feeding Mayfair diners, Langan’s is taking diners back in time, for one night only, and bringing back menu prices from 1976. I’m talking starters for as little as £1 each, and mains that start at just £4.50!
If you fancy trying out the throwback menu prices, you’ll want to make a booking for Langan’s on October 20. They’ll be doling out hearty food and incredible savings from 11am until late.
And that’s not all; the Langan’s team is also promising to bring back some of the restaurant’s original spirit and conviviality. A live pianist will set the tone in the main dining room throughout the day, while upstairs a band will keep spirits high as guests enjoy pre- and/or post-dinner drinks.

The Langan’s throwback menu
So, what kind of food can diners expect at the low, low, 1976 prices? Naturally, the restaurant will be serving up a taste of history as part of the celebration. Dishes on offer will include the likes of:
- Parma Ham & Melon
- Crab & Prawn Cocktail
- Liver & Bacon with Pomme Purée
- Shepherd’s Pie
- Lobster Thermidor
- Rum Baba
- And more.
What do you say? Fancy a taste of history? Then get on over to Langan’s next month!
