If you love Rock ‘n’ Roll, then your ears will prick up at this one, as Joan Jett And The Blackhearts are coming back to town for shows. It’s the first UK tour from the group in 16 years, and will see the legendary Joan Jett take to the stage at London’s new British Airways ARC venue on Wednesday, July 8.
The London concert closes the tour, which also features shows in Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, and Wolverhampton, with The Meffs as main support on all dates.
Joan Jett And The Blackhearts‘ last UK performance came at the Isle Of Wight festival in 2011, with their last tour coming in 2010, when the band supported Green Day at stadiums, as well as playing at London’s famous 100 Club. Prior to this, their last headline tour came in 2007, so this will be the best chance for many to have caught them live at their own show for the best part of 20 years!
The London show is among the first shows to be put on at new venue, the British Airways ARC. Its opening nights come in the form of a double-header from Self Esteem, with McFly and Zac Brown Band also announced early on. After the tour, attendees will also be able to catch Joan Jett live while supporting My Chemical Romance on ‘The Black Parade’ show on July 10.
Speaking on the tour announcement, Joan Jett said: “We can’t wait to be back on stage in the UK this summer! I wrote and recorded ‘Bad Reputation’, my first solo LP in London. It’s been too long since we’ve been in the UK and we’re excited to see everyone!”
