Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and for single Londoners looking for love, IKEA might just have the perfect match—literally. This year, the Swedish furniture giant is stepping into the dating scene by offering in-store dates at its Greenwich location on February 14.
Could you go on a date at IKEA any day of the week, company-approved or not? Of course. But this Valentine’s Day, the furniture giant is offering something extra—matchmaking for single Londoners, so there’s no need to bring your own date.
This isn’t just a casual stroll through the showroom either. The date will take place in a fully designed bedroom setup at IKEA Greenwich, where couples—matched based on their sleep preferences (think mattress firmness, duvet thickness, other cosy factors and get your mind out of the gutter)—will be served the brand’s famous meatballs. Romance, eh?
The initiative is a collaboration with dating app Breeze, which focuses on meaningful real-life connections. As part of the event, three London couples will be matched up for this unique Valentine’s experience on February 14.
Speaking about the event, Tania Douglas, IKEA’s commercial activity leader has said: “At IKEA, we believe everyone deserves a good night’s sleep – so we’re excited to team up with Breeze to help those looking for love to find someone they can sleep soundly with.”
Breeze co-founder Marsha Goei added: “Breeze is dedicated to helping people find meaningful connections in real life. We’re excited to partner with IKEA to create a truly special dating experience that celebrates the magic of finding someone who is genuinely compatible.”
So, if you’re single and searching for someone who shares your ideal sleep setup, this might just be the cosiest Valentine’s Day date in London.
