They’re Britain’s favourite drunken delicacy, but who said that they can only be enjoyed with a side of shame after a night out? I am Döner have thrown out the rulebook, taken the humble kebab, and made it fancy. No, not just fancy. They’ve made it fab kebab-ulous.
The I am Döner revolution started when founder, Paul Baron (a Michelin-trained chef), took on the challenge of transforming the lowly kebab into something so much more than a late-night treat for the intoxicated. And boy, did he succeed.
The food at I am Döner
With a focus on serving up truly delicious grub, I am Döner kebabs are made with the very freshest and highest-quality ingredients. Each kebab is wrapped in a fluffy flatbread and is completely customisable – perfect for picky eaters or those who know exactly how they want their kebabs. The flatbreads themselves are made fresh in-store every day, and they’re a bit thicker than the traditional wraps – all the better to trap the delicious goods inside!
Alongside all the fillings you’d expect from a kebab (and some that you wouldn’t – vegan döner, anyone?), the Camden store opened last December with a world-famous Christmas dinner döner. And while it might no longer be on the menu, we’re already doing a countdown until we can try it again. Stuffed with turkey and all the trimmings – it was a truly mighty kebab. Keep an eye on their socials for future gut-busting specials.
But we’re not done-r yet! The eatery also serves up their take on loaded fries – the jam-packed Street Cart Fries – as well as rice bowls and salad boxes. Because sometimes you just want a (relatively) civilised knife-and-fork meal. But be warned, they’re so crammed with food and toppings that they’re hardly any less messy to eat!
Oh, and they’re well aware that you’re going to be craving them into the early hours of the morning. In fact, they’re open until 4 in the morning on Friday and Saturday nights! Are there even any bars open that late?!
I guess we’ll see you there late at night/bright and early in the morning…
