Holi, affectionately also known as the Festival of Colours, is not just about paint-flinging. Instead, it’s a time to welcome the arrival of Spring (and historically celebrate the harvest), celebrate the love of Radha and Lord Krishna, and set aside grievances to celebrate life. But every year when Holi rolls around, the most iconic sight is always that of people covered in powdered paint. After all – it’s just so much fun! And London’s most reliable paint-flinging venue is returning once again for 2024, entering its 7th year of paint-throwing pandemonium (paint-emonium?). That’s right folks, the House of Holi is back!
The special pop-up, from Cinnamon Kitchen’s Vivek Singh, allows anyone to “escape life’s daily grind for sheer unadulterated paint-throwing fun”. Visitors can paint themselves and their surroundings pink, blue, yellow, and green in thrilling 30-minute sessions. But remember to wear old clothes. The paint is washable, but you still don’t exactly want to come in nice garms…
The House of Holi pop-up will run from March 15 – 25. Various sessions will run throughout the day, from midday all the way to 8pm. But act quickly to secure your session because tickets are selling fast!
Enjoy a special meal afterwards…
When you’re done with the paint-flinging (and hopefully washed the paint off yourself, or changed your clothes) why not keep the celebrations going with a special Holi meal? Cinnamon Kitchen City has you sorted! If you opt for the dine and play ticket for the House of Holi you’ll get to enjoy a nine-dish Holi sharing feast in the restaurant. And at just £60pp for the experience and food inclusive, that’s a pretty banging deal in our opinion!
There’s also a cocktail option for those who need a calming drink after all the paint frenzy. Nab one of these tickets and you’ll get a specially-crafted Holi cocktail to enjoy after your session. Perfect for those likely to be uttering to themselves ‘I need a drink after that’.
It’s time to “Let your hair down, grab some paint and have fun!”
