This isn’t the sort of hidden gem I’m used to writing about, but with half term coming up I know this will be some kids’ idea of heaven. So if you’re a parent looking for a way to entertain your small humans while they’re off school, you may have just found it. You’re welcome.
The “gootastic” destination you never needed, Gootopia has three south London branches; the third of which has just opened up in Wandsworth. And with half term comes a brand new and improved slime recipe, and a bunch of new scents.
Gootopia’s workshops all start with a science show to get to grips with the slime, before the kids go wild with a range of different colours and scents, and experiment by mixing in things like glitter and shaving foam. They will also work on a giant slime masterpiece as a group and generally just revel in the unique, sensory experience.
The workshops take place every weekend and during the school holidays, and are inclusive of all abilities. The ‘normal’ sessions are aimed at 3-13 year-olds, but there are separate pre-school sessions that are perfectly geared towards little ones’ sensory development. All children will leave armed with slime facts and tubs of personalised slime. What more could a kid want?
Tickets cost £16.99 and sessions last for 60 minutes. They also welcome birthday parties and other events. You’ll find Gootopia branches in Brixton, Lewisham and Wandsworth. Head over to their website for more info and to book.
