1) Tower Bridge Go Karting
This 800-metre, two-storey track is the most central location to try go karting in London. The electric karts hit speeds of up to 40mph and, with the right driver, can whip through a lap in under 40 seconds. Adults drive from £20 person. Head to the exceedingly-central Queens Skate & Bowl for a London go karting experience with a difference. Here, you can race go-karts around a circular course on the venue’s ice rink, allowing competitors to master the art of the drifting turn. Tickets, from £39, are available here. 3) Teamsport Go Karting, Docklands

Another 800m pulse-raiser from TeamSport, this premier indoor track offers multi-level go-karting thrills but hopefully no spills. From £20 per person. South of the river, this track’s nearest stations are Woolwich Dockyard and North Greenwich, although both are over a twenty-minute walk away. Uber it is then. More info.
4) Revolution Karting, Mile End
Did you know Mile End had its own outdoor go-karting track? Us neither! The curvaceous, floodlit 750 metre beauty races just 10 karts at once to reduce congestion and encourage sneaky overtaking. From £25 per person, the nearest stations are Mile End or Limehouse. More info.
5) Teamsport Go Karting, Edmonton

For north London go karting adventures, check out this track in Edmonton. With ups and downs and nine corners to navigate, it’ll put your driving skills to the test. A few laps will cost you £15, the nearest station is Angel Road, and there’s more info here.
6) Capital Karts, Barking
The longest indoor go-kart track in the UK, Capital Karts offers over a kilometre of screaming karting action. Near Barking in Zone 4, east London, the nearest station is Upney, and adult prices are from £27.50. More info here.

One of the shorter tracks to try, it’s possible to complete the 500m multi-level circuit in just 28 seconds if your driving is good enough. More info here.

This venue offers two 400-metre go kart tracks, that can be cleverly combined into one hair-raising 800-metre challenge. The usual electric karts are on offer with top speeds of 40mph, and the route allows up to twenty drivers to race simultaneously. More info here.
