Nestled in a railway arch in Deptford, south-east London, this brilliant new bar dedicates itself to just two things: tequila and cider! (That’s my little joke.)
For the gin enthusiast, you’ll find 100 different craft gins to sample, from a Broken Heart to a Spit Roasted Pineapple Gin; the menu helpfully divides them into classic, complex, citrus and sweet. The bartenders will also happily knock them into a Martini, Negroni or one of their speciality cocktails. (See our guide to London’s prettiest G&T’s.)
After the ampersand, there’s an all-Belgian beer list, with six beers on tap and forty bottles to put to the test. Or try their ‘beer tapas’, a tasting flight of three thirds-of-a-pint.
Speaking of tapas, the good folks of Gin & Beer have a third, secret weapon: and that weapon is cheese. Their cheeseboards are just the thing to sustain you through a very serious and scientific gin and beer tasting session.
All in all, three cheers for beer, for gin, and for cheese! Give these arch-dwellers a visit.
