After setting up shop in Brixton, Clapham, East Village and Dalston, the authentic Beijing street food gods at Mamalan have spread their chilli fried chicken wings to Shoreditch. The restaurant in Rich Mix Square opened to the public on 13th October and until the 19th will be running a soft launch. That means half priced delicious dumplings, noodle soups and irresistible traditional Beijing toasted buns filled with sticky pork, chicken, crispy prawn or tofu.
We were lucky enough to sample some of the menu earlier this week and my-oh-Mamalan, was it tasty. Our favourites (if we had to choose) were the ever-so succulent boiled king prawn and water chestnut dumplings, the beef noodle soup (it had a fantastic chilli kick!) and the miso tofu bun. The chefs at Mamalan do wonderful things to their tofu. We also would recommend trying a few (if not all) of the cocktails, which will certainly bring a bit of brightness back into your life, now that London’s weather is heading back to dismal. Any excuse, hey?
Head to Mamalan Shoreditch any evening before the 19th October to get 50% off the food menu.
