If you’re like me, you’ve spent a lot of time this week, and over the past few heat-filled weeks, emptying your freezer of ice cream and ice lollies as quickly as you can replenish the supply. Frankly, half of my grocery bill must be going towards Twisters at this point. And with the hot weather not going anywhere anytime soon, I’m constantly on the lookout for more ways to cool down. Well, how about some free gelato?
This summer, popular neighbourhood restaurant Kitchen at Holmes has joined forces with Hackney Gelato on a summer gelato terrace. And as if the idea of a gelato terrace doesn’t sound dreamy enough, they’re going one step further and launching a big ol’ gelato giveaway!
Next Friday, July 17, just before National Ice Cream Day (July 19) grips the city with its frozen fingers, they’ll be giving away 500 free gelato scoops. And all you have to do is turn up – it’s as easy as that!
How to get free gelato
The free gelato giveaway will take place at Kitchen at Holmes’ terrace, from 12 pm on July 17. There are no forms to fill in or online tickets to reserve your freebie. Simply find the gelato trike on the terrace, and you can claim your free frozen treat.
The giveaway is first-come, first-served, and is limited to one scoop per person.
The offer applies to selected Hackney Gelato flavours only and is subject to availability. Available flavours could include:
- Clotted Cream & Strawberry Gelato
- Alphonso Mango Sorbetto
- Sea Salted Carmel Gelato
- Rich Chocolate Sorbetto
- Pistachio Gelato
- Cookies & Cream Gelato
But if they run out of your favourite before you get to the front of the line, you’ll have to try something else!
The giveaway excludes any additional toppings, cone upgrades or extras.
