One of London’s most touching sights returned just a month ago, but it’s already set to close soon. Since mid-November, Chelsea’s Duke of York Square has been taken over by 30,000 white roses, transforming into the Ever After Garden. The sea of illuminated roses provides a way to remember lost loved ones and raise money for charity. But it’s your last chance to visit, because it’s closing soon!
The Ever After Garden is open to visitors until December 16. The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity has joined forces with Brookfield Nationwide Building Society to bring the Ever After Garden 2025 to Cadogan. Previous iterations had taken over Grosvenor Square, but this year’s display saw the sight moving to Chelsea for the first time.
The garden is open every day between 3-9pm. This allows for optimal viewing of the white roses glowing in the evening light. It’s a truly breathtaking sight for visitors to the area.
Entrance to the garden is free, but visitors can make donations or dedicate a rose to a loved one they have lost. The cost of each rose helps to raise funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Dedications can be done in person or online, in which case stewards handwrite them to keep the personal touch.
The Ever After Garden
The Ever After Garden first appeared in 2019 as a stunning and peaceful way to commemorate the people we have lost. Following an absence in 2020, the gorgeous sight has since returned every winter. As of last year, the stunning memorial had raised over £870,000 for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
The garden was designed by Anya Hindmarch, Designer and Trustee of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, and fashion writer Camilla Morton. They created the space in memory of their friend, Production Designer Michael Howells. And the name of the garden? Well, that came from a film that Howells worked on: Ever After.

I’m also immensely proud of the difference the garden makes to people with cancer and their families. The money raised for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity funds life-saving research, which is not only transformative for patients at The Royal Marsden, but enables breakthroughs in the way we treat cancer which have a meaningful impact far beyond its doors.”
