Duck & Waffle is pretty notorious for their 24/7 dining. They’re often mentioned in the same breath as Beigel Bake and Polo Shop when pub conversations swing around to the legendary London institutions that stay open around the clock. Except… they’re not. At least, for the last three years they haven’t been. They’ve slowly brought back their 24-hour openings across the weekend, but until now that option hasn’t extended through the week.
Pandemic and post-pandemic closures saw the sky-high restaurant alter their opening hours as they attempted to navigate restrictions and changing demand. However, the night owls and (super) early risers can breathe a sigh of relief, because Duck and Waffle are bringing back their 24/7 dining option from March 13. Imagine a view like this as you satisfy your late-night cravings:
The late-night menu
The self-described ‘gastro-diner’ mashes up food of an incredibly high standard with the ethos and attitude of a New York diner. And their menu reflects that, with elevated versions of late-night cravings that will lead you temptingly from the exit of the bar to the entrance of the restaurant.
To understand what we mean, here’s a small sampling of some of the dishes on their late-night menu, available from 11pm-5am:
- Duck Sliders – with scamorza (a low-moisture cow’s milk cheese similar to mozzarella), pickles, and special sauce.
- The Francesinha – a bacon, beef, and linguiça (a Portuguese sausage) sandwich topped with Gruyère, duck egg, and beer sauce.
- Duck Shawarma – with yoghurt sauce, slaw, and fresh coriander leaves.
- The Full Elvis – a crazily decadent waffle with PBJ, caramelised banana, Chantilly, and all the trimmings.
Wait, all the trimmings? That means there’s… more stuff on it! Oh, and by the way, that’s not even half of the menu. Check out the whole thing here.
They’re even introducing a week-long celebration with waffles on the bill for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So, from Monday March 20 to Saturday March 25, you’ll be able to eat as many waffles as you want in celebration of International Waffle Day 2023. Winner, winner!
24/7 dining and drinks
Now, by the time you’ve plopped some of this food in your belly – you’re probably also going to want to keep the night going! Duck & Waffle understands that, so they’ve also curated a special late-nights drinks menu to match the food.
There’s the Porridge Punch, with oat-infused bourbon, sherry, and pistachio orgeat, and the Tough To Beet, with cacao-infused rum, beetroot liqueur, and cream of coconut, among others. Meanwhile, signature favourites will also be available, such as the Ristretto Negroni, which electrifies the classic cocktail with a 24 hour slow-drip coffee kick. Oh, and don’t miss their Waffle on the Rocks, which reimagines a fluffy, maple-drizzled waffle in cocktail form!
Said Duck & Waffle Brand Founder Shimon Bokovza:
“We are thrilled to bring back our 24/7 operation that Duck & Waffle London is known for… We’re here to reignite and contribute to the city’s magnetic and incredible late- night energy. Our guests have been missing it and London needs that magic. Nightlife is essential to the fabric of every international polestar. It’s time to bring it back.”
We couldn’t have said it better!
