If you’re the type of person who always has to sport the hottest fits and the most fire garms, then we’ve got just the new streetwear drop for you. One of London’s spiciest fried chicken slingers, Dave’s Hot Chicken, has partnered up with celebrity-approved tattoo artist, Certified Letter Boy, on an ultra-limited-edition fried chicken clothing drop.
The clothing drop will feature only 250 pieces, with a specially designed t-shirt, cap, and hoodie up for grabs. Each one will feature Certified Letter Boy’s iconic Grim Reaper above a flaming cauldron of hot chicken. And if you want them, there’s only one day (and one place) to secure the goods.
The fried chicken clothing capsule will launch at Dave’s Hot Chicken’s London store, on Shaftesbury Avenue on March 5, from 6:30pm. The clothing is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t get down too late, lest you miss out!
The fried chicken clothing collaboration
Pablo Gutierrez, aka Certified Letter Boy, is perhaps one of the UK’s most renowned and in-demand tattoo artists. His client list includes everyone from David Beckham to Central Cee, Rick Owens, Bugzy Malone, and more. No wonder there’s an 18-month waiting list for his body art – with a starting price of £1,000 (!).
Adding even more star power to the collaboration, the US-born Dave’s Hot Chicken counts the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Usher, and Drake among its fans. The latter is such a lover of their fiery Nashville-style hot chicken that he even invested in the brand. (But the wait for food at Dave’s is definitely shorter than 18 months. And the food definitely doesn’t start at £1,000 per meal…)
While Gutierrez’s tattoos fetch an impressive price, the fried chicken clothing drop won’t cost more than a meal at Dave’s. A cap will run you the same price as a Dave’s meal, while the t-shirt and hoodie will cost the same as a meal with a drink or top-loaded shake. Additionally, a clothing purchase will also net you a free hot chicken meal. So you get the clothing goods and the fried chicken to boot!
Said Pablo Gutierrez aka Certified Letter Boy:
“Dave’s Hot Chicken’s ‘Reaper’ is their hottest flavour—you even have to sign a waiver just to eat it. That felt like the perfect visual metaphor for this collab. Before people get tattooed, they usually get a little stressed, and they have to sign a waiver too. It’s a whole experience. I actually ate the ‘Reaper,’ and trust me, it’s no joke.
“I love a collaboration that feels a little unexpected. The world is full of collabs no one asked for, just for the sake of it. This one felt fun and different. I’m really grateful to be working with Dave’s—it’s a powerhouse brand that’s set to take over the chicken scene worldwide.”
We’ve heard rumours that there might be more to the Dave’s Hot Chickens collaboration than a drop of streetwear. Keep your eyes peeled for more info and to find out what’s coming next…
The Dave’s Hot Chicken clothing will be available at their restaurant on 40 Shaftesbury Avenue, on Wednesday, March 5, from 6:30pm.
