There’s a number of ways to tell when summer has arrived in the capital city. The days start getting (ever-so slightly) brighter, the temperature (sometimes) reaches the twenties, and the sun (occasionally) starts shining. But the most reliable summertime sign of all is when the charming Dalloway Terrace has its annual summery makeover. And guess what, folks? It’s time.
Quite easily one of London’s most Instagrammable restaurants; Bloomsbury’s Dalloway Terrace is back, and up to its usual verdant tricks when it comes to its décor. The restaurant’s idyllic terrace has been given a fresh, foliage-filled look for summer – and sipping seasonal cocktails in this floral wonderland is just what we Londoners need.
This year, they’re championing the good old British summertime. The makeover has been inspired by Virginia Woolf’s novel Mrs Dalloway, with the blooming gorgeous installation inside heavily contrasting the city hubbub just outside, mirroring the juxtaposition between Mrs Dalloway’s childhood spent in the tranquil British countryside and her adult life in busy London.

The menu has also had a summery freshen up, and will now feature a selection of bespoke cocktails including the Mrs Dalloway Club (made from Silent Pool gin, Cocchi Rosa, lemon juice, honey, raspberry and coconut milk), the Surrey Hills Bee’s Knees (featuring Bee Friends Honey Water along with Silent Pool gin, lemon juice and lavender), and the superb Sgroppino Royale (a blend of Silent Pool gin, homemade Pimm’s sorbet and prosecco).
The summer food menu will include the likes of Cornish Plaice ceviche, courgette and garden pea risotto and picture-perfect strawberry tart served with Pimm’s sorbet. Sign me up, immediately.
