Big trip planned to Costa del… Tottenham?
Yes, you read that correctly. North London’s newest outdoor summer spot Costa del Tottenham is here to bring you the holiday vibes this season. Taking over the industrial space outside beloved nightclub The Cause, just by Tottenham Hale, you’ll find the all-new street food, drinks and event space. It is split into two areas, Northside and Southside, each with a wealth of food, drink, and entertainment options. Oh, and you can nab a complimentary beer with your entry if you grab tickets through Fever. [Featured image: Costa de Tottenham]
Costa del Tottenham is a large-scale spot adorned with palm trees, delicious food, cocktails and DJs galore. It’s preparing for a summer of events, with both sides of the faux-Mediterranean space now open following the end of the UK’s lockdown (the Southside area has been open a few weeks longer than the Northside). Tropical vibes abound at the Southside, where palm trees nod lazily amongst the colourful pergolas, and street food is a mainstay of the venue, with popular vendors such as vegan queens Club Mexicana, People’s Burger, and more ensuring you leave with full bellies.
A few minutes walk away at the Northside, you’ll find a cavernous hangar, filled with all kinds of entertainment and events. Costa del Tottenham are promising bottomless brunches, pub quizzes, drag queen cabaret, and much more here, and with a craft beer hall, a rum bar, a gin station and, of course, pint-sized cocktails and frozen margaritas, there is also something for every type of drinker imaginable.
The space has also announced an eight week, open-air cabaret schedule in partnership with London’s greatest queer party, Adonis, which will see Saturday nights welcome the arrival of Touché. You’ll need to be a little speedy to catch Costa del Tottenham, though; it’s merely the summer concept from dance music venue The Cause, who were forced to change their plans swiftly after the lockdown was imposed. In the absence of foreign holidays, a trip to this inventive ‘holiday resort’ should be a refreshing burst of sunshine and entertainment!
Stuart Glen, Costa del Tottenham’s co-founder, said: “This was never our usual plan but being quick to adapt we’ve been fortunate with our space. The ongoing development has given us lots of empty avenues for expansion around the site letting us get creative with the COVID crisis. We’ve got loads planned over the summer with plenty more in the pipeline which we can’t wait to share with everyone else.”
There will, of course, be social distancing measures that visitors must adhere to. Costa del Tottenham has partnered with V-Protect, an electromagnetic cleaning company to ensure the venue is protected against COVID-19, and entry must be booked in advance.
