While you may not be able to find a pair of high-heels tall enough to reach the heights of Oblix at the Shard, you will be able to drink a cocktail out of a pair when you reach it in the lift.
Yes, just because drinking cocktails out of shoes, admiring the views, writes itself, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be running over here to try it out.
You’ll be able to sip the ‘Head Over Heels’ cocktail out of a pair of fresh kicks at Oblix at the Shard up until March 31, and it’s with us as part of London Fashion Week, which rolled into town last week.
Oblix have collaborated with the acclaimed shoe and fashion designer Kat Maconie to bring us ‘Head Over Heels’. It’s a fruity concoction of Strawberry & Raspberry infused Tanqueray No.10 with redcurrant syrup, Muyu Chinotto Nero liquor. plum bitters and Duval Leroy Champagne Brut, and by it’s very nature is a shoe-in to be delightful.
Since all pairs of shoes worth their salt come in pairs, the ‘Head Over Heels’ cocktail is just that: a sharer cocktail. Order this for two people, and be treated to the heels that come in a range of colours, each dotted with diamantes.
Of course, it’s not the sole reason to visit Oblix. With your cocktail, you’ll be treated to views over London from 32-floors up, as well as bar snacks to nibble on including a Wagyu burger with matured cheddar and truffle fries.
Head Over Heels cocktails are no doubt set to kickstart many a conversation at the Oblix about what the next linkup in the world of shoes and drinks are. Pints out of Air Max 90s? Negronis out of Doc Martens? Only one we can truly rule out is a G&T poured into a pair of Crocs because, well, ya know. Not even the savviest London bar could find a way to charge £15 for that, despite the potential name of ‘Croctails’.
Find the Head Over Heels cocktail at Oblix at the Shard (31 St Thomas Street, SE1 9RY) until March 31, priced at £20 for two people.
