“Holidays are coming, holidays are coming!”
Screw the John Lewis advert, because we all know that only one advert truly heralds the coming of Christmas. The Coca-Cola Christmas truck has graced our screens since 1995, and once again, it’s embarking on a tour around the UK. That most wondrous blend of Christmas and capitalism will be rolling into London soon, with gifts for everyone – and new for 2019, a charitable endeavour.
Well, it wouldn’t be Christmas without presents, would it? They’ll be handing out cans of Coca-Cola zero wherever it goes, and whenever it stops at a Sainsburys or Asda, you’ll also be able to pick up personalised bottles. In even better news, you’re invited to bring along cans for recycling, because for each and every can recycled, Coca-Cola will donate 10p to national homelessness charity Crisis. Which really is pretty lovely.
You’d be hard-pressed to miss a 13-tonne truck bedecked in almost nine thousand lights, but we’ll give you the details anyway. Find it at Asda Leyton Mill on December 3rd, Asda Watford on December 4th, Sainsbury’s Beckton on December 10th, and finally, at the O2 Arena on December 15th.
Not in London but still want to pay a visit? Check the schedule to see if it’s coming to your hometown.
