The temperatures are swiftly dropping and the twinkly lights are being untangled as we speak. It can only mean one thing, folks. In the whistly words of Mariah Carey: ‘it’s timeee’. And that’s only confirmed by the latest (and some would say greatest) Christmas display to have turned on in London.
Whilst some believe it isn’t really Christmas until the John Lewis advert drops, and others refuse to get into the festive spirit until the calendar flips to December; here at Secret London, we’ve got a rather definitive benchmark as to when the season to be jolly begins. And that, my friends, is when the most Christmassy pub in the capital city switches on its dazzling display. Well, paint us red and green and cover us in tinsel, because the Churchill Arms has lit up its stunning decorations, and Christmas has officially landed in London.
The Churchill Arms Christmas lights
If you’ve not visited the Churchill Arms in person, I can almost guarantee that you’ll still be familiar with the pub to which I’m referring. London’s most Christmassy pub is splashed across social media throughout the season. And for very good reason. It’s a west London watering hole that whole heartedly opts for the ‘more is more’ approach, serving up Christmas cheer by the pint-load each and every year.
In previous years, the Churchill Arms’ festive facade has featured nearly 100 Christmas trees and a rather gasp-inducing 135,000 fairy lights. This year’s display is just as stunning as years gone by. Look across the display and you’ll spot dazzzling forest animals, moons, stars, a snowman perched on the roof, and an INCREDIBLE array of fairy lights.

The Churchill Arms has no switched on its glorious glowing display, so, head on down to officially see Christmastime descend upon Kensington. And you may as well head inside for a beer and some festive cheer after you’ve had a good old gawp at the decorations. It is (nearly) Christmas, after all.
You can find The Churchill Arms at 119 Kensington Church Street, W8 7LN.
