Steam Dreams are back to make some more Christmas dreams come true, as their hugely popular Santa Steam Express returns in December for its third year of spreading festive cheer. How tree-mendous?
Hauled by the iconic 61306 Mayflower (a gorgeous 1948 steam train), passengers will enjoy a magical journey around the capital city after being welcomed aboard the legendary locomotive by old Saint Nick himself. Fabulously festive, vintage train carriages will be the setting for the ninety-minute train ride. Whilst the grown-ups tuck in to mince pies and mulled wine; the children can get to work on their Christmas-themed activity sheets and snack-boxes.
With three classes-of-travel to choo-choo-choose from, there’s something to suit everyone. This year, Steam Dreams have also introduced private first class compartments that seat up to six passengers. Prices start at £65 per person and the private carriages cost £550 per compartment.
Santa and his helpers will be jingling through the vintage carriages during the journey, making the whole experience truly magical. Being London’s only Santa steam train, spaces are limited – so you better watch out, you better not cry, you better… just book your tickets as soon as possible, really. After all, it is the most wonderful time of the year and the Santa Steam Express sounds like a total Christmas sleigh.
The Santa Steam Express will be departing from London Victoria on December 15, 18 and 21. There are four trips each day, departing at 9.30am, 11.45am, 3.30pm and 5.45pm. Find out more and book your tickets here.
