Ah, the Korean Corn Dog – even if you think you don’t know what it is, you’ve definitely seen it before. Having gone viral time and time again, it’s a dish that perfectly blends aesthetic interest with the greatest cheese pull you’ll ever see. Couple the visual draw with delicious flavours, and you’re on to a winner. And Korean Corn Dog legends, Bunsik, have now brought their culinary delights up Camden-way. (Perfect for Secret London writers on a lunch break, as it’s right down from our office!)
With sites also found in China Town and Charing Cross, Bunsik has built up a dedicated following for their internet-beloved delights. Made up of skewered sausage, cheese, or a combination of the two, dipped into a cornmeal batter and studded with crispy toppings before hitting the fryer, they’re a real elevation of the corn dogs we all remember from childhood. They’re sweet and savoury, chewy and crispy, and delightfully unique in the London food scene.
The Bunsik menu
Bunsik Camden offers up the same tasty delights as the other two locations, but with a selection of special Camden exclusives. As well as the Korean Corn Dog offerings – which include The Original Corn Dog (pork sausage with crispy outside), the Half and Half (pork sausage and mozzarella cheese), and The Potato Mozzarella Corn Dog (Mozzarella corn dog with potato cubes wrapped around) – there’s also bubble tea and Korean street food dishes. We’re talking sweet and spicy burgers, chicken katsu, rice bowls, and Dakgangjeong (Korean fried chicken glazed in a sticky, sweet, tangy and spicy sauce).
Is anyone else salivating already?
