Everyone’s favourite marmalade-sandwich-scoffing bear has taken up residence in his namesake London area once again. And some of his friends have come along too. Visitors to Norfolk Square Gardens were surprised this week by life-sized brick creations depicting characters from the Paddington universe. Multiple brick models of Paddington, as well as Aunt Lucy, Uncle Pastuzo, and other fan-favourites, are currently dotted around the park.
You’ll want to run, not walk, down to Paddington as the brick models, courtesy of BRICKLIVE, will only be on show until July 31.
While you’re there, selfie options abound. Some of the creations tower above attendees, with others peering up from their perch. You can even take on the role of Paddington and recreate the bathroom flooding, ensconced safely within the bathtub.
The brick models have popped up at an exciting time in the Paddington story – with Paddington 3 starting filming next year. Paddington in Peru sees the anthropomorphised bear heading to his home country where he’s sure to get caught up in all kinds of hijinks and mischief. Makes sense that Paddington and his friends wanted a quick break in a Paddington park beforehand.
The exhibition is completely free. There’s no need to register or sign up, and no free tickets to faff about with. Just rock up, picnic basket in hand, and spend the day with your new brick model friends.
The brick models of Paddington and his friends will be available to see at Norfolk Park Gardens until July 31. The park is open between 9am – 7pm. Let’s hope no one in the area complains about the bears that have taken up residence in their local park!
