As Christmas’s goes, this one feels pretty special. Last year was a stop-start affair, with most of us spending the bulk of the festive period indoors due to restrictions. But this time around, it looks like more of what we’re used to will go ahead, so let’s make the most of it, eh?
But, although we really should be grateful, there’s one more thing we’d love, just to add the cherry onto the already-delicious icing: a blanket of snow to cover the streets of London. That’s completely out of our control, of course, but what is in our hands is letting you know about the spots where this is actually guaranteed.
Secret London has already informed you of the daily snowfall at Covent Garden, and now we’re here to let you snow about another spot that will enjoy a white Christmas (of sorts). Brent Cross shopping centre has revealed that snow will fall every 20 minutes between their walls, as part of their winter festival, which sees the retail haven receive a festive kiss from November 27 to January 3, 2022.
And here’s where the snow comes in. Just outside John Lewis, a flurry of snowfall will cover their magical festive forest every day from December 4-24. It’s a busy forecast too, with a prediction of white flurries every 15 minutes over an eight hour period! Oh, and if you need somewhere to pick up this year’s Christmas tree for your living room, look no further!
Elsewhere in this lovely Christmas festival, you’ll see some familiar faces. Brent Cross’s iconic ice rink will be back, as will Santa’s magical grotto. A ride on their Ferris wheel and merry-go-round surely won’t go amiss, either. Plus, on arrival to the Christmas extravaganza, you’ll be taken through to the centre court to hear tales of enchanted creatures escaping, before being handed a map to embark on a hunt for them around the centre. Those taking part in the hunt can even enter a competition to win their Christmas wish list to Santa!
And, as it’s Brent Cross we’re talking about, there’s plenty more ways to enjoy the festive season outside of the magical Christmas enclosure too. After you’ve sorted your Christmas tree, you can look towards the many shops for presents, and we’d recommend the lovely card pop-up, run by Pop Up United and The Black Card Company, outside John Lewis from December 6-31. Beautiful cards from over 20 designers will be on display, including those from cardsinc.lusive, a diverse selection of greeting cards and postcards featuring an inclusive range of races, relationships and body types.
Then, it’ll undoubtedly be time for a spot of grub, and you’d do a lot worse than checking out Fuego Fenwick, the brand new Mediterranean tapas restaurant, or picking up a scrumptious snack from Lola’s cupcake. Find a full list of food options here.
So, from November 27, it’ll be beginning to look a lot like Christmas around Brent Cross. Come December 4, the snowfall every fifteen minutes will only compound that, and it’ll be a paradise worth venturing over the festive period. Find more details here.
