We’re not sure exactly when it happened, but it seems we’ve been unable to escape from the powers of hummus for quite some time now, not that we’re complaining. Luckily enough for all the hummus connoisseurs across the capital, today marks International Hummus Day, and two sibling restaurants are honouring all of London’s chickpea champs with bottomless hummus and insanely crafty cocktails.
So, grab your closest pals for a fantabulous feast of unlimited hummus at some of the city’s favourite Eastern Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurants, especially if you’re feeling a little dip-ressed (sorry).
From Chef Eran Tibi, Bala Baya and its devilish sibling eatery Kapara are both famed for their drool-worthy hummus, as well as other delicious delicacies. You’ll be able to enjoy bottomless hummus on the big day itself (13th May) and a limited-time chickpea-based cocktail – the Hummus Sesame Sour – for the rest of the week until 19th May.
On offer for tables of two or more, pay the bargain price of £12 for a sky-high pile of pitta and unlimited servings of their addictive hummus. Choose from the likes of braised aubergine & tomato or a mouth-watering braised lamb shoulder hummus at Kapara, with Bala Baya offering chickpea salsa alongside braised beef varieties – it truly sounds like an absolute dream.
The Bottomless hummus is available on Monday 13th May only, for a maximum of two people per session that lasts for up to two hours. This offer is available at both Kapara and Bala Baya. As for the cocktail, you can try it out all week long, with The Sesame Garden Sour’s run concluding on the 19th.
You can find Kapara in Soho at Manette Street, W1D 4AL. You can find Bala Baya in Southwark at 229 Union Street, SE1 0LR. For bookings, click here for Kapara or here for Bala Baya.
