Long gone are the days when skipping booze meant being stuck with water or orange juice all evening; London is full of incredible mocktails, sober bars and non-alcoholic alternatives. Whether you’re cutting down or cutting alcohol out completely, check out our list of the best mocktails in London below.
1. Enjoy alcohol-free alternatives at the Avora cocktail experience
The latest cocktail experience from the team behind Alcotraz, the Avora cocktail experience in Hoxton will transport you to a brand-new world to partake in an out-of-this-world storyline of fun, drama, and of course, cocktails. If you’re avoiding alcohol, the team offer three fantastic mocktail alternatives, just as impressive as the original drinks, to enjoy over the course of the hour and 45 minutes experience.
2. Relish in a ‘tea-total’ bottomless brunch at Daisy Green Collection’s cafes
While booze is a big part of bottomless brunch, the whole experience is a lot more than that: gathering the gang, popping the corks, laughing for hours on end… The Daisy Green Collection‘s cafes know this too, which is why they’re offering a booze-free bottomless brunch experience, serving their indulgently Instagrammable dishes with unlimited REAL sparkling teas. You’ll be popping bottles all afternoon, but without the headache the next day. With locations all over London, you’re sure to find a branch nearby.
3. Sip Instagrammable mocktails at MY&SANNE
A short amble from the museums of the aforementioned South Ken, you’ll find MY&SANNE, a gorgeous restaurant serving hearty dishes and fantastically fresh, tempting desserts. What’s more, their non-alcohol offering is sublime, as they put just as much care into the presentation of these drinks as they do their cocktails. With mocktails such as Beauty & the Beast, which is served in a flourish of smoke, and the bright blue Where Is Your Smile?, you’ll be spoilt for choice. A selection of smoothies and juices are also available.
4. Admire the city streets from Tattu’s rooftop terrace
If you like to enjoy your mocktails with a side of panoramic views of London, venture to the rooftop restaurant and terrace of Tattu London. The lavish Chinese restaurant near Tottenham Court Road has crafted refreshing alcohol-free mocktails, such as the Sweet Skullduggery, made with kiwi, blueberries and apple, and the Eventide Pagoda, which mixes pear, honey and jasmine. Not only will these drinks quench your thirst, but they’re pretty damn gorgeous to look at too.
5. Or perhaps venture to Florattica’s floral rooftop bar instead
Florattica occupies the 11th floor of the Canopy by Hilton London City, championing all things floral. The space is pretty inside and out – ‘out’ being the panoramic views across The City from the floor-to-ceiling windows – and the drinks take guests on a sensory journey through the world of flowers. The booze-free mocktail options make use of ingredients such as jasmine and elderflower cordial, green tea, and Three Spirit’s non-alcoholic spirits.
6–7. Spend an afternoon drinking mocktails at a lavish hotel bar
Whether you opt to stay overnight, or prefer to just visit for the day, many of London’s top hotels tempt a visit. The 1920s-inspired Le Magritte bar, located at Mayfair’s five-star Beaumont hotel, beckons with non-alcoholic serves, such as The Therapist (orange juice, pineapple juice, lime juice, Orgeat syrup and cherry juice) and The Six Elements (jasmine and rose syrup, lime syrup, agave syrup and pineapple juice).
Alternatively, fast forward to the 70s and head over to Kings Cross’ The Standard hotel for a selection of low ABV and alcohol-free cocktails. The five-star London spot offers mocktails at their Double Standard bar, including a booze-free Colada, a spicy HotBucha (Kombucha, ginger, chilli, apple and vanilla), and the Blossom Spritzer, which uses peach and white grape soda, with a low-alcohol vermouth.
8. Take a swing and a sip at Junkyard Golf Club
Head to Junkyard Golf Club‘s Shoreditch branch for mini golf games and a selection of fun mocktails. Catering to most tastes, from sweet to bitter, the mocktails on offer include cucumber and elderflower sour, Sweet Sunrise (cherry shrub, apple, bubble-gum, blue curaçao, ting and sweets) and Coco Cabana (guava, pineapple, watermelon, lime and coconut cream).
